Bhishak Prachchabivandana 2026 was a special felicitation ceremony organized by the MD registrars of the 2022 batch to express their deepest respect, gratitude, and appreciation to the esteemed former Directors, trainers, supervisors, and mentors of the Postgraduate Institute of Indigenous Medicine, who guided and supported them throughout their Pre- MD and Post – MD journey.
The ceremony was held on 21 August 2026 at Solis Hotel, Kotte, bringing together distinguished former and present Directors, trainers, supervisors, and mentors representing various specialties of Ayurveda. The event honoured former Director Emeritus Prof. Jayantha Jayawardhana, and Prof. S.M.S. Samarakoon, the present Director, Consultant Ayurveda Surgeon Dr.L.P.A. Karunatilaka together with the dedicated academics who have contributed to the postgraduate training of the 2022 MD batch.
The journey of postgraduate education is not merely an academic pursuit; it is a process of continuous learning, professional development, and personal growth. Throughout their journey, trainers and supervisors play an invaluable role in shaping the knowledge, clinical skills, professional attitudes, and confidence postgraduate scholars as physicians. Their guidance, encouragement, constructive criticism, and dedication have enabled scholars to overcome challenges and progress towards becoming competent, compassionate, and responsible practitioners of Ayurveda.
Bhishak Prachchabivandana 2026 was therefore a humble expression of respect, remembrance, and gratitude to all those who have contributed to shaping the professional journey of the MD registrars of the 2022 batch. The ceremony provided an opportunity for the registrarsto acknowledge the invaluable contribution of their teachers and mentors, whose knowledge, guidance, and inspiration have helped transform them from postgraduate students into confident, competent, and responsible Ayurvedic consultants.
