Applications Open – MD Selection Examinations 2026

The Postgraduate Institute of Indigenous Medicine (PGIIM), University of Colombo, invites applications from eligible medical professionals for admission to the prestigious Doctor of Medicine (MD) Programmes leading to Board Certification in Ayurveda, Siddha, and Unani Medicine.

These postgraduate programmes are designed to develop highly qualified specialists capable of advancing clinical practice, education, research, and leadership in Sri Lanka’s Indigenous Medicine sector.

  • MD in Unani

Important Dates

MD in Ayurveda & MD in Unani

  • Application Closing Date: 27 July 2026
  • Selection Examination: 29 August 2026

MD in Siddha

  • Application Closing Date: 15 August 2026
  • Selection Examination: 10 September 2026

Medical professionals who meet the eligibility requirements are encouraged to submit their applications before the respective closing dates.

The MD programmes offered by PGIIM provide advanced academic and clinical training, preparing graduates for Board Certification while strengthening the future of Indigenous Medicine in Sri Lanka.

Application Procedure

Application forms and detailed information can be obtained from the Senior Assistant Registrar, Postgraduate Institute of Indigenous Medicine, 5th Floor, OPD Building, National Ayurveda Hospital, Borella, during working hours (9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.).

Applicants are advised to complete the prescribed application process, pay the relevant application and examination fees as specified in the admission notice, and submit their applications before the respective closing dates.
